Badshah says Nazia Hassan is one of his biggest inspirations

Indian rapper and singer Badshah has revealed that the late Pakistani pop icon Nazia Hassan is one of his biggest inspirations.

He made the remark during a recent press conference in London ahead of his forthcoming concert at The O2 Arena on Sunday, March 22.

Speaking to reporters, Badshah mentioned several names and moments from the South Asian music scene.

“Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sahab comes up sometimes in my [social media] feed,” he said.

He also spoke about Pakistan Idol.

“Bilal Saeed gave a special performance on Pakistan Idol, that was beautiful. I think he sang ‘12 Saal’ [Ranjhay Majhiyan Chariyan]. I don’t get free time from Indian Idol, but whenever I do, I will watch it. I have heard so many things about [Pakistan Idol].”

When asked specifically about which Pakistani artist he listens to, Badshah replied, “Nazia Hassan… she is one of my biggest inspirations.”

Badshah has released several hit songs that have defined his career so far. His track “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai,” featured in the Bollywood film Khoobsurat, became a blockbuster and amassed over one billion views on YouTube.

He also gained vast popularity with “Genda Phool,” a Hindi pop song featuring Payal Dev that became one of the most-watched music videos globally, crossing more than one billion views online. Another well-known song is “She Move It Like” from his album ONE (Original Never Ends), which has attracted hundreds of millions of views and remains a fan favorite.

Nazia Hassan became a defining voice in South Asian pop music after her debut with “Aap Jaisa Koi” for the 1980 film Qurbani. The song gained widespread popularity across the subcontinent and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer at just 15 years old.

Her album Disco Deewane and its title track broke records and helped her achieve international success. Other enduring songs that remain popular include “Boom Boom,” “Disco Deewane,” and “Dosti,” all celebrated for their impact on pop music and still cherished by listeners decades later.

‘Do not show women in such a negative way’: Nadia Khan advises Khalil ur Rehman Qamar

TV host Nadia Khan has criticised controversial drama writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, saying his work has lost its impact and has become hard to watch.

Nadia Khan recently appeared as a guest on a Ramzan show, where she shared her views on several topics related to media and society.

During the show, the host asked her to give free advice to different well-known personalities. Nadia Khan offered light and engaging comments on various figures, including actors, media personalities, and political leaders.

However, her tone changed when the segment reached Khalil ur Rehman Qamar.

Nadia Khan said that the writer once produced excellent dramas but believes his recent work has crossed a line. “He used to write very well, but now I will only say this that whenever you write a drama, present women in a positive way,” she said.

She further advised the writer to avoid portraying women in an overly negative manner.

Nadia Khan explained that such content becomes exhausting for viewers who closely follow dramas. “Do not show women in such a negative way. For people like us who watch dramas three times for review purposes, it becomes unbearable because we have to hear the same dialogues again and again,” she said.

Nadia Khan concluded her remarks by urging Khalil ur Rehman Qamar to depict women more respectfully and positively in his future projects, calling it important for both viewers and the overall quality of Pakistani dramas.

The controversy began when Fazila Qazi shared a post on Instagram showing a picture of a devil hosting a Ramzan transmission. Alongside the image, she wrote, “Konsi batain horahi hain ramzan transmission mai …we cross all the limits for ratings !”

Her response quickly went viral and triggered mixed reactions from social media users.

Many users sided with Fazila Qazi and criticised Javeria Saud’s tone, while others pointed out that Fazila never mentioned any host by name in her original post.

Faryal Gohar, Jamal Shah appears together after 30 years to talk about divorce

Yesteryears power couple Faryal Gohar and Jamal Shah have spoken publicly for the first time about the real reason behind their separation, three decades after their divorce.

The former couple recently appeared together on a private TV channel’s Ramadan transmission, where they discussed their past with maturity and mutual respect.

Once regarded as one of the most admired pairs in Pakistan’s showbiz industry, the duo parted ways in 1992. Faryal later left Pakistan in 1995.

During the conversation, Faryal shared that problems in their marriage had begun several years before the separation.

“Our marital issues started as early as 1987,” she said. “Jamal valued his freedom deeply and often felt restricted by marriage. I never believed that a husband and wife own each other, so when one person no longer feels connected to the relationship, it should not be forced.”

She added that she understood Jamal Shah’s perspective and chose separation with dignity and respect rather than conflict.

Jamal Shah also admitted that marriage did not suit his personality.

“I never considered myself fit for marriage, and my natural love for freedom mattered a lot to me,” he said.

He went on to describe an incident that ultimately became the final turning point in their relationship.

Jamal revealed that he was trying to establish an art institute in Islamabad with a woman at the time. Faryal had advised him against working with her, and even the woman’s aunt had warned him to be cautious. Despite the advice, he followed his own decision.

“The project did not succeed, and during that period, our existing differences became more intense,” he said. “That is when we mutually decided to separate.”

Both actors stressed that despite ending their marriage, they never deliberately cut ties with each other. They said respect remained intact over the years and still defines their relationship today.

Women showed jealousy over my resemblance to Kareena Kapoor, says Sarah Omair

Pakistani actor Sarah Omair has addressed the attention and criticism she received on social media after fans began comparing her appearance to Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan following her return to television.

After making a comeback to the drama industry, Sarah started appearing at public events and signing new projects, which brought her back into the spotlight.

Social media users soon began pointing out the resemblance between her and Kareena Kapoor Khan, with several fans claiming she looks strikingly similar to the Indian actor.

While many viewers praised her looks, the comparison also triggered negative reactions. Some users accused Sarah of creating the comparison herself for publicity, while others left critical remarks, particularly female users.

Speaking recently on a podcast, Sarah addressed the issue openly and rejected claims that she promoted the comparison herself.

“I personally like Kareena Kapoor, and this comparison did not start from my side. It came from the fans,” she said. “Some people tried to suggest that I ran a publicity campaign, which was not true.”

Sarah explained that although she received a lot of appreciation, she also noticed jealousy-driven comments online. She chose not to take the criticism seriously and responded to the situation with humor instead of anger.

“I saw some jealous comments from women, but I laughed them off and handled the whole matter positively,” she said.

Sarah Omair began her acting career in the early 2000s and worked with several well-known actors in Pakistani television.

After marrying director Mohsin Talat, she stepped away from acting to focus on her family and children. She has now resumed work and remains active in the drama industry, with new projects lined up and regular appearances at media events.

  • Mahnoor Rahim files response to Umer Mukhtar’s defamation notice

Mahnoor Rahim files response to Umer Mukhtar’s defamation notice

Social media content creator Mahnoor Rahim has filed a response to the defamation notice from HUM TV senior producer Umer Mukhtar, who was accused of inappropriate conduct and exploitation of women, including underage girls.

Rahim had in a series of Instagram videos last week alleged that Mukhtar, despite being married, used to message her late at night for “chit-chat”. She had gone on to claim that other women had also received similar messages, including some who were underage at the time.

As several other women also came forward with similar allegations, Mukhtar released on social media the copy of a defamation notice he had sent to Rahim through legal counsel. “In light of recent public developments, I have decided to address this matter through the appropriate legal channels,” he had said, adding that any action being taken was directed only through due legal process and that he would not comment further while placing trust in the justice system.

In response, Rahim submitted a formal reply to the legal notice through her lawyer, Advocate Taimur Aslam Khan.

In the response, the allegations of defamation were denied, with the reply stating that the content shared by Rahim was neither false nor defamatory and was made in good faith on matters of public interest.

The legal response stated that Rahim had received communications from several individuals, including minor girls, alleging inappropriate attempts at contact by Mukhtar. It further stated that Rahim is in possession of electronic communications, including messages that allegedly show attempts to initiate inappropriate conversations and communications directed at Rahim of an objectionable nature.

It added that Rahim reserved the right to initiate civil and criminal proceedings based on the material available to her and called for the withdrawal of the defamation notice.

The response to the legal notice also stated that Mukhtar had shared the defamation notice publicly in an attempt to intimidate and pressure Rahim into silence. According to the reply, the use of defamation proceedings in this manner was aimed at damaging her reputation and discouraging her from raising allegations of misconduct.

In a separate online statement, Rahim said, “I took a little time to gather my thoughts and process everything properly before responding. I believe in speaking with clarity, not emotion, because I know the truth can neither be punished nor silenced.”

Rahim added that her decision to speak publicly was aimed at accountability and transparency within the entertainment industry, and also thanked individuals who supported her during the controversy.

  • Fahad Mustafa, Atiqa Odho apologise to each other after heated exchange

Fahad Mustafa, Atiqa Odho apologise to each other after heated exchange

Actor Fahad Mustafa has issued a public apology to veteran actress Atiqa Odho after passing controversial remarks during a live segment of Jeeto Pakistan.

During the show, Fahad directly addressed Atiqa and expressed regret over his earlier sarcastic comments, which had triggered strong criticism on social media.

He praised her stature in the industry and said, “Atiqa Apa, you are our senior, we all love you and there is no doubt that you are the most beautiful woman of Pakistan. In front of you, I feel humbled. May Allah keep you happy. I love you, God bless you. I apologise to you.”

Atiqa had earlier also apologised to Fahad on social media, calling for calm and closure.

She urged people to move on and wrote, “Fahad is a talented and hardworking professional. He reacted emotionally and I feel sad that public figures can’t say anything light-heartedly without being attacked. If I unintentionally hurt him or anyone else, I apologise. Let’s forgive and forget. We are only human and to err is human.”

She also spoke about the pressures of social media and stressed the need for empathy and mutual support, especially during challenging times.

The controversy started after Atiqa suggested in an interview that Fahad should consider working with actresses closer to his age.

Fahad later responded on Jeeto Pakistan with a sarcastic remark that many viewers interpreted as age-shaming.

He said, “I do not know what problem Atiqa Apa has. Perhaps she will only be happy if Humayun and I start playing heroes opposite her. This has crossed all limits.”

“Atiqa Apa, it seems you are the only heroine left for us now. Inshallah, we will work with you. Just get two or four good surgeries, and we will come and play the hero opposite you,” he added.

Actress Urwa Hocane also weighed in, criticising the comment and intensifying the online debate.

Atiqa Odho remains one of the most influential figures in Pakistani entertainment. She began her television career in 1992 with Sitara Aur Mehrunissa and later earned acclaim for roles in Dasht, Nijaat, and as Farida Hussain in Humsafar.

Alongside acting, she runs Odho Cosmetics, supports breast cancer awareness initiatives, and serves as chairperson of the Actors Collective Trust. She continues to work in television and film, with recent appearances in Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi and the upcoming film Neelofar.

Fahad Mustafa, on the other hand, is one of Pakistan’s most successful television and film stars, known for balancing mainstream popularity with strong performances. He gained wide recognition through dramas such as Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Kankar, Dusri Bivi, and Bashar Momin.

In cinema, he delivered major box office hits including Na Maloom Afraad, Actor in Law, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, and Load Wedding.

Beyond acting, he is also a prominent producer and the long-running host of Jeeto Pakistan, making him a consistent and influential figure in the industry.

  • Zara Noor Abbas responds to speculation about Sajal Aly

Zara Noor Abbas responds to speculation about Sajal Aly

Actor Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui spoke candidly about her career, personal growth, and industry friendships during an appearance on the Excuse Me with Ahmed Ali Butt podcast. One of the most anticipated topics of the conversation was her relationship with fellow actor Sajal Aly, which has been the subject of public speculation following their brief social media fallout.

When host Ahmed Ali Butt asked directly about Aly, Siddiqui responded, “She is doing well.” Butt followed up immediately, asking, “Acha? How long has it been since you guys talked?” Siddiqui confirmed that they had spoken recently, prompting Butt to laugh and call it a “lie.”

The actor addressed the speculation, saying, “Okay, I can’t understand how people think that if two have unfollowed each other then that means they don’t talk to each other,” highlighting the disconnect between social media actions and real-life relationships.

Siddiqui reflected on the nature of friendships in the entertainment industry, noting that public perception often oversimplifies complex dynamics. She said, “I think it is easier, to point fingers at the person who is most flamboyant in the room, to say that ‘He is the killer’, so it is very easy, and I have always had that ‘she is the killer, she said it’ vibe.” She added that both she and Aly have simply entered different phases of life: “I think we have gone into many different scenarios now.”

The conversation then expanded to industry culture and networking. Siddiqui acknowledged the gossip-driven environment actors often face, saying, “I think everybody talks about everybody.”

She added that her approach to visibility has evolved, and she no longer feels the same pressure to constantly “grind” as newcomers do. She highlighted the importance of being cautious in forming relationships within the industry.

Siddiqui also discussed gender dynamics in professional friendships, stating, “Men are better friends than girls.” She explained that proximity within the same field can complicate female friendships: “The moment they are in the vicinity of your field or any such interaction, the whole room changes, the energy changes, and then you’re like what is happening, but men don’t have that.”

She admitted that failed friendships have left a lasting impact, repeatedly emphasising that she would now avoid certain friendships.

A judicial magistrate has ordered the restoration of the frozen bank accounts of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, in a case involving the promotion of gambling applications on social media.

Rehman appeared in court along with his wife Aroob Jatoi and their legal counsel. During the proceedings, Magistrate Naeem Wattoo allowed the YouTuber to regain access to his accounts and granted him limited permission to upload videos on his YouTube channel.

The magistrate stressed that Rehman should not discuss the ongoing case in his videos. He noted that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had raised objections to 27 videos on the YouTuber’s channel but directed that these videos should not be deleted at this stage.

A technical witness from the NCCIA gave testimony in court, while the agency’s prosecutor was absent. Because of the absence, the magistrate adjourned the hearing until March 11.

Rehman was arrested by the agency in August last year, and the Lahore High Court released him on bail on November 24, 2025.fter his release, Rehman had accused NCCIA officials of physical torture and humiliation during his custody.

Tabish Hashmi reveals he was not the ‘first choice’ for Hasna Mana Hai

TV host Tabish Hashmi has revealed that he was not the first choice for Geo News when the channel planned its popular satire show Hasna Mana Hai.

Speaking during a recent episode that featured Saba Qamar as a guest, Tabish jokingly claimed the channel initially wanted to sign Saba for the show. While welcoming her on stage, he left his seat and told her she was the original face of Geo, referring to her iconic work on Hum Sub Umeed Se Hain.

Tabish shared the story with the audience, saying, “I want to tell everyone I was not the first priority for the selection of Hasna Mana Hai. It was Saba Qamar. Then Geo realized if they wanted to do well, should they hire me? No, just kidding.”

Saba responded with a laugh and added her own punchline. “Wait, wait. With the budget Geo was giving, only Tabish Hashmi would have agreed. Saba Qamar would not have come,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.

Saba Qamar is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most versatile actors. She earned critical acclaim for television dramas such as Baaghi and Cheekh, and also appeared in films including Hindi Medium.
