Israel launches deadly operation in West Bank’s Jenin

The Israeli military said on Tuesday it had launched an operation in the occupied West Bank’s Jenin that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said aimed to “eradicate terrorism” in the area.

The Palestinian health ministry, based in Ramallah, said the operation had killed six people, just days after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect in the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement, the military and the Shin Bet security agency said that, alongside the Israeli Border Police, they had launched an operation dubbed “Iron Wall’ in Jenin, whose refugee camp is a stronghold of Palestinian resistant groups.

In a statement released shortly after the launch of the operation, Netanyahu said the raid aimed to “eradicate terrorism” in Jenin and was part of a broader strategy to counter Iran “wherever it sends its arms — in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen,” and the West Bank.

The Israeli government has accused Iran, which backs militant groups across the Middle East including Hamas in Gaza, of attempting to send weapons and money to militants in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said its first responders treated seven people injured by live ammunition and that Israeli forces were hindering their access to the area.

Jenin governor Kamal Abu al-Rub told AFP the operation was “an invasion of the (refugee) camp”.

“It came quickly, Apache helicopters in the sky and Israeli military vehicles everywhere”, he added.

An AFP journalist said Palestinian security forces, who had been conducting an operation against Palestinian factions in the area since early December, left some of their positions around the camp before the arrival of Israeli forces.

The spokesman for the Palestinian security forces, Anwar Rajab, said in a statement that Israeli forces had “opened fire on civilians and security forces, resulting in injuries to several civilians and a number of security personnel, one of whom is in critical condition”.

Advance Pardon by President Joe Biden to important personalities Including Dr. Anthony Fauci: An Extraordinary Move

President Joe Biden on Monday, January 20, 2025, forgives Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and members of the January 6 Committee in an extraordinary use of the powers of the presidency in his final hours.

There is a possibility that the step is taken to save from retaliatory actions towards the trump administration.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infection Diseases from 1984 to 2022. He led epidemic American reaction during the COVID-19. Under his guidance, they played a crucial role in controlling the epidemic outbreaks and the preparation of vaccines.

However, in political circles, he had to face criticism on the basis of his policies and statements. He faced criticism, especially from the president’s supporters.

The reason for the forgiveness by President Joe Biden was to save the personalities from legal actions. Explaining the reason for this action Joe Biden says that these people have been busy in public services that’s why they should not face political cases.

New President “Donald Trump” has severely criticized these apologies and called these apologies very shameful. Donald Trump said that “he intends to forgive the people who were involved in the events of 6 January.”

He added “he will issue executive orders to change Biden’s policies”

Dr Fauci was retired from the government services in 2022. While expressing his gratitude he said that he always has been working for the betterment of public health. His mission “public service: is far away from politics.

This primitive forgiveness is unusual in the history of America. Because usually absolutions are granted to those people who already will be involved in some crime. However, Biden’s action reflects concerns that political opponents could be targeted through legal action.

In his professional life, Dr Fauci has played a crucial role in US efforts against pandemics such as HIV/AIDS, SARS, swine flu, MERS, Ebola, and COVID-19. Because of his services, in 2008 he was awarded the “Presidential Medal of Freedom” by President George W. Bush.

The main intent of President Biden behind the pardons is to protect these individuals from potential political action. So they can continue to serve and work for the betterment of the country without fear.

Trump ‘not confident’ Gaza deal will hold

US President Donald Trump said Monday he was not confident a ceasefire deal in Gaza would hold, despite trumpeting his diplomacy to secure it ahead of his inauguration.

Asked by a reporter as he returned to the White House whether the two sides would maintain the truce and move on in the agreement, Trump said, “I’m not confident.”

“That’s not our war; it’s their war. But I’m not confident,” Trump said.

Trump, however, said that he believed Hamas had been “weakened” in the war that began with its unprecedented October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

“I looked at a picture of Gaza. Gaza is like a massive demolition site,” Trump said.

The property tycoon turned populist politician said that Gaza could see a “fantastic” reconstruction if the plan moves ahead.

“It’s a phenomenal location on the sea — best weather. You know, everything’s good. It’s like, some beautiful things could be done with it,” he said.

Israel and Hamas on Sunday began implementing a ceasefire deal that included the exchange of hostages and prisoners.

The plan was originally outlined by then president Joe Biden in May and was pushed through after unusual joint diplomacy by Biden and Trump envoys.

Trump, while pushing for the deal, has also made clear he will steadfastly support Israel.

In one of his first acts, he revoked sanctions on extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank imposed by the Biden administration over attacks against Palestinians.

Trump’s airing of doubt marks a shift in tone from Biden, who had attempted for months to put the deal together.

“I’m confident,” Biden told reporters on Sunday about the prospects for the accord after implementation began.

Biden also downplayed prospects that Hamas would regroup.

Trump in his inaugural address on Monday pointed to the ceasefire as he described himself as a “peacemaker.” At a rally afterward in an indoor stadium, Trump invited family members of hostages still in Gaza.

John Fetterman Denies Party Switch Rumors: ‘Not Going to Happen’

John Fetterman is a current lawmaker. He has become the center of attention for his recent comments on social media regarding switching political parties. Due to such talks, there are some circulating claims that he wishes to shift to the other side.

He has publicly and privately dismissed such rumors by saying, “That is amateur-hour shit.” In response, John Fetterman told Semafor, “If they think, ‘Oh, it’s going to be like a Manchin or a Sinema play,’ that’s just not true, and that’s not going to happen.

In the nominating caucus, ‘It’s not gonna happen,’” Fetterman continued. “And let me tell you, that is the sled to Palookaville, even if I wanted to do that.” It has been speculated how far Republicans will go to build a bridge of support and bipartisanship after the Democrat wins Pennsylvania’s Senate seat.

John Fetterman Shows Up in Sneakers and Shorts at Trump Inauguration

Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania heated the bench during Donald Trump’s second inauguration ceremony by wearing his signature hoodie, sneakers, and shorts. He declared clearly that he was taking a “sporting a look” to the next level, either by grace or the wrath of God within the confines of their shared reality.

Despite his radical fashion change, ardent American supporter John Fetterman bravely confronted the chill of D.C. in basketball shorts. He cleverly hid his arms under a hoodie and became cool-headed. The 55-year-old somehow managed to take away full attention from the men present at the rotunda, one of whom was Jeff Bezos, Bill Clinton, or George W. Bush.

John Fetterman has begun to rattle the Democratic Party’s cage with his new, more moderate approach to *border issues and his unwavering support for Israel. Given the dominance of Trump and the confusing, chaotic new administration, he had made it clear that he was willing to work with the new government, including the big man himself.

Elon Musk Under Fire for Alleged Nazi Salutes at Inauguration Rally

The billionaire technology entrepreneur Elon Musk is seen giving a couple of Nazi salutes while addressing an official event for supporters of US President Donald Trump. Standing on stage at the Capital One Arena in Washington, Musk placed one hand on his chest before extending the other in salute.

After Elon Musk made the gesture at President Donald Trump’s inauguration parade, the famous figure became an object of criticism and debate. The internet lost it with one X (formerly Twitter) user saying, “Did I just see Elon Musk do the Nazi salute three times in live time?” Another user asked, “What was that salute by Elon Musk?”

The controversy surrounding this gesture has overshadowed Elon Musk’s political relations and appearances. Many eagerly expect a positive response from the man or those representing him. They continue to argue on behalf of Elon Musk’s already long list of controversial events, separating social media yet again and placing other commentators in a position where his actions must be dissected further.

However, the Anti-Defamation League says that in Germany from 1933 to 1945, the Nazi salute “was frequently done along with chanting or shouting ‘Heil Hitler’ or ‘Sieg Heil.’” Neo-Nazis and other white supremacist organizations have continued the practice since World War Two. So, it has continued to be the most used white supremacist hand gesture globally.

The ADL was later quoted saying, “It’s a New Day, Yet So Many Are On Edge.” In their own words, these are their arguments regarding any allegation made against Elon Musk and the sign they have termed the zig emoji.

Looking back, Elon Musk appears to have become more sociopathic in his gestures. He made an inappropriate wave of his right hand in a moment of euphoria rather than a Nazi salute. Still, we are careful that people are cautious. This is the timmer side of the issue, so all of this skepticism can be put to rest for now. Moreover, we hope that good things are beginning.

Trump Birthright Citizenship: New Action to End Birthright Citizenship in America

Donald Trump is the President of the US. On December 10, 2024, Trump announced that he would take over the position on January 20, 2025. After taking office he plans to end the right to birthright citizenship added in the US Constitution.

This birthright citizenship stems from the 14th Amendment of the US. According to this amendment:
“Every child born on US soil is automatically entitled to or granted US citizenship whether the parents of this child are US citizens or not.”

Donald Trump and his supporters argue that this law needs to be changed. So that makes it more difficult to get US citizenship.

Moreover, the President of the US Donald Trump also announced:

“Plans to enhance border security with Mexico, including reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, completing the construction of a border wall, and banning the use of the CBP One app.”

In the interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Donald Trump said that he must fulfill campaign promises, including deporting illegal immigrants and ending birthright citizenship. He further said, he would act on it soon if it is possible through administrative action.

On the other side, legal experts believe that birthright citizenship would be difficult to change because it is part of the US Constitution. As it is a constitutional amendment, and the changes in it may require Congress’s approval.

According to legal experts, this move could cause and lead to legal challenges and social problems in the country. Moreover, if trying through an administrative order, the matter may be challenged in the courts.

Donald Trump’s “Ending the birthright citizenship” policy is being debated in various circles, and it remains to be seen whether Trump will be able to implement this announcement or not.
