Three arrested for forcibly cutting girl’s hair in viral video

Rawalpindi police have arrested three suspects after a disturbing video showing a man forcibly cutting a young girl’s hair went viral on Tuesday.

The footage shows a man standing over the girl with scissors while others watch in the background.

Soon after, another video surfaced, reportedly featuring the victim. She claimed the incident took place one and a half months ago in Rawalpindi’s Christian Colony.

She said four men beat her, threatened her and cut her hair off forcibly.

Rawalpindi police confirmed that the incident took place and referred to the victim as a girl. The department said the case happened around six weeks ago in Rawalpindi and Islamabad but no one reported it at the time.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani took notice of the situation. Police reached out to the girl and began legal proceedings at the Naseerabad Police Station on her request. Officers arrested three suspects after recording her statement.

The Rawalpindi CPO vowed strict action, saying the police would not tolerate crimes involving violence, coercion or exploitation of women.

He said officers would arrest every person involved and bring them to justice.

Islamabad police also released a statement last night. They said the incident occurred in Rawalpindi, not in Islamabad’s Lohi Bher area as some reports claimed.

Islamabad police traced the girl, recorded her statement and detained several suspects before handing them over to Rawalpindi authorities.

ISPR said that security forces acted on confirmed intelligence about the presence of militants linked with an Indian proxy network in the area.

ISPR stated, “On 24 November 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Bannu District, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.”

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, twenty two khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement added.

The statement said, “Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision Azm e Istehkam (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the forces for the successful action. He said the troops were securing major gains against terrorism due to the unified national resolve behind Azm e Istehkam.

“The entire nation stands with Pakistan’s armed forces in the war against terrorism,” the prime minister said. “We are determined to completely eradicate all kinds of terrorism from the country.”

Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in militant attacks, particularly in KP and Balochistan, since the TTP ended its ceasefire in late 2022.

The latest attack took place on Monday, at the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, where a suicide bomber struck the entrance of the facility.

Three FC personnel embraced martyrdom and twelve sustained injuries.

According to reports, security personnel killed the bomber’s two accomplices before they reached the main installation and prevented a mass casualty attack.

Reports suggested that all three attackers were Afghan nationals and aimed to target the FC’s weekly assembly where around four hundred personnel had gathered.

Indian doctor dies by suicide after US visa rejection

A 38-year-old doctor from Guntur district in India’s Andhra Pradesh reportedly died by suicide after her US visa was rejected, causing her severe emotional distress.

According to police, a suicide note recovered from Dr. Rohini’s apartment mentioned depression and disappointment after the visa got rejected.

Her mother Lakshmi said Rohini was extremely excited about securing a medical job in the United States but fell into deep depression after the rejection. Rohini had been living in Padma Rao Nagar, Hyderabad, to stay close to nearby libraries.

Lakshmi shared that her daughter completed her medical degree in Kyrgyzstan and always excelled in her studies.

She did not want to practice in India and aimed to work in the US, where she believed she would have more patients and better income opportunities.

The incident came to light when family members, who lived in another part of the city, broke open the apartment door after she failed to respond to calls. A domestic worker had alerted them when Rohini did not open the door.

Police said initial findings suggest she may have taken an overdose of sleeping pills or administered an injection.

The exact cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy takes place.

Authorities have handed over the body to the family.

  • US, Ukraine to continue working on Russia peace plan

US, Ukraine to continue working on Russia peace plan

The United States (US) and Ukraine on Monday continued working on a plan to end the war with Russia, Reuters reported.

According to reports, the two sides, in a joint statement, said they had drafted a “refined peace framework” after talks in Geneva on Sunday, although they did not provide specifics.

The White House said the Ukrainian delegation had told them it “reflects their national interests” and “addresses their core strategic requirements,” although Kyiv did not issue a statement of its own.

It was not clear how the plan – which comes after the two countries agreed to modify an earlier proposal that was widely seen as too favorable to Moscow – would handle a host of issues, including how to guarantee Ukraine’s security against ongoing threats from Russia.

The US and Ukraine said they would continue “intensive work” ahead of a Thursday deadline, although Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who led the American delegation during the talks, was flying back to Washington late on Sunday.

President Donald Trump has kept up the pressure on Ukraine to reach a deal. On Sunday, he said Ukraine had shown “zero gratitude” for American efforts over the war, prompting Ukrainian officials to emphasize their thanks for Trump’s support.

Trump previously set a Thursday deadline for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept a peace plan, but Rubio said on Sunday that deadline might not be set in stone.

Zelensky could travel to the US as soon as this week to discuss the most sensitive aspects of the plan with Trump, Reuters quoted sources as saying.

The initial 28-point proposal put forth by the United States last week called on Ukraine to cede territory, accept limits on its military and abandon its ambitions to join NATO. Those terms would amount to capitulation for many Ukrainians after nearly four years of fighting in Europe’s deadliest conflict since World War II.

  • Saba Qamar rises as the star of the year with new upcoming drama

Saba Qamar rises as the star of the year with new upcoming drama

Can anyone stop Saba Qamar? With two concurrently running super hits, Pamaal and Case No.9, Hum Entertainment has revealed the teaser of her new drama, Muamma.

The teaser shows Jahan Ara (Saba Qamar),  as someone who is in love with Ali Ansari’s character, and looks like a story of obsessive love.

Saba took to Instagram stories to share the teaser, saying that, “this is a side of me I’ve never shown before,” in a “mysterious calculator and addictive” drama. She says that her character Jahan Ara lives in the ‘thrill of her own mind’, revealing that the character is complicated and calculated.

The teaser starts off with Jahan Ara holding a rose and walking down the stairs with Saba’s voice saying, “Zindagi guzarne mai aur Muhabbat karne mai zaida mushkil kya hai,”.

We then see scenes of Ali Ansari’s character getting ready and fighting with another woman, as Saba’s voice continues, “magar yeh kumbakht muhabbat na jeenay deyti hai na marne.”

Fans are already loving the teaser, lauding Qamar for being an actor that can play so many different roles and at the same time, saying that she is the reason why people watch dramas and can’t wait for the new drama she’s about to show them. She promised another fan that they would love the drama and thanked her fans for the love she was getting.

Qamar was always one of Pakistan’s most loved actors but she has truly risen in the past year with two super hit dramas and one on the way. She plays a rape survivor in Case No.9 and in Pamaal she plays an emotional abused and battered wife, who finally finds her way through.

Qamar chooses dramas that made a social and dramatic impact and in Muamma, it seems like she is playing the villain and there is no one who could make such a drastic impact.

  • Money, obsession, and toxic love: Why Meri Zindagi Hai Tu gets it wrong

Money, obsession, and toxic love: Why Meri Zindagi Hai Tu gets it wrong

Let’s just get to the point. Stalking is stalking and romanticising it is not okay. Yes, Kamiyar (Bilal Abbas) is the hero, and yes, love between Kamiyar and Ayra (Hania Aamir) is what we all expect – and want – but not like this. It’s time, Pakistani drama industry stop selling crazy, stalker, rich men as the goal for the good, strong, independent girl. With dramas like Case No.9, Pamaal, and Jama Taqseem, we know that it’s possible to get ratings and views and not make girls want the actually bad, crazy guy.

Episode six of Meri Zindagi Hai Tu this week showed puppy dog Kamiyar who would set his own million dollar car on fire if Ayra wanted it. Ayra is no less. The guy is hanging out outside her house like a crazy stalker in the night, and instead of being scared, her solution is to go out with him ‘to make him understand that she doesn’t want him’. I mean, who in the world thinks this is a good idea except her friend who knows that Ayra is secretly into this guy?

And then in comes Kamiyar’s friend Faria (Vardah Aziz) who is also into him although he treats her like crap. And again, we do not go for guys that treat women like they are trash which is exactly what Kamiyar does with Faria. He only wants Ayra because Ayra rejects him, slaps him, berates him and that’s creepy enough on its own.

Here is the dead honest truth: It’s the money isn’t it? The “only son of a super loaded, cybertruck-owning, huge mansion, doesn’t have to work for a living, doesn’t give a crap about his parents, and hello, buys things for above market value” lust that is doing it for this drama that instead of telling Ayra to run for her life, people are rooting for them to get together.

Would they do the same if a ordinary guy was going around lighting cars on fire and sitting outside houses staring at windows? Highly doubt it.

As money still reigns supreme for this Pakistani drama, nothing much is expected as Kamiyar helps resolve Ayra’s sisters marriage issues to win her favour, and writes down a list of things she wants him to change about himself – already a really bad warning sign when someone wants you to change something about themselves.

Ayra gives him a long list and he lovingly writes it down because Kamiyar is now going to become the non-smoking, office going, family loving boy that Ayra wants him to be, only so he can get together with her.

Only in dramas. And this one would’ve likely not done so well had it not been for the star couple. We’ll keep watching it for Haniya and Bilal but don’t expect much from the storyline.

  • Pakistan Sports Board lifts lifetime ban on Arshad Nadeem’s coach

Pakistan Sports Board lifts lifetime ban on Arshad Nadeem’s coach

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has lifted the lifetime ban imposed on coach Salman Butt, who trains javelin gold-medalist Arshad Nadeem.

According to reports, the decision came from PSB arbitrator Senator Pervez Rasheed after hearing arguments from both sides.

The arbitrator declared the ban illegal and also suspended the Athletics Federation of Pakistan’s decision to call elections for the Punjab Athletics Association (PAA).

In his ruling, the PSB arbitrator stated that the Athletics Federation had not followed legal procedures in taking action against Butt. No charge sheet was provided and he was not given an opportunity to be heard, the arbitrator noted.

The decision added that the Athletics Federation had damaged Butt’s reputation and that the ban had negatively affected Nadeem’s preparations.

The PSB adjudicator also barred the Athletics Federation from making public statements against Salman Butt, noting that the affairs of the Punjab Athletics Association did not fall directly under the federation’s authority.

According to the ruling, the PAA elections had taken place under the supervision of the Punjab Sports Board and Punjab Olympics.

Butt had faced a lifetime ban imposed by the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, which he challenged according to the Pakistan Sports Board’s constitution.

  • Woman delivers baby in street after maternity ward refuses admission

Woman delivers baby in street after maternity ward refuses admission

A woman in labour delivered her baby on the pavement outside Civil Hospital in Thatta on Sunday after staff allegedly refused to allow her into the maternity ward, once again drawing attention to the state of maternal care at the main public hospital serving Thatta and Sujawal.

Halima Machhi had come from Darro to deliver her baby, but according to her family, the gynecological unit’s on-call physician turned them away, saying there was no staff available and telling them to leave the ward.

Halima delivered the child at the hospital gate without help as her labour worsened. Her family reports that she and the baby are still in critical condition.

Relatives said Civil Hospital, despite its size and the population it caters to, is unable to provide even basic services to poor patients, a concern shared by rights groups.

Human Rights Protection and Social Justice Thatta said the hospital has effectively been reduced to a referral facility, and claimed that the influence of external organisations and a retired official, Malik Adam, has shaped how it operates.

According to activists, women who arrive for emergency deliveries are frequently verbally abused or told to leave, which results in multiple incidents where childbirth occurs outside of the facility.

They described the situation as a grave breach of patient rights and called for an independent assessment of maternity services at the hospital.

Reporters covering the incident on Sunday reported that they were confronted by individuals who grabbed their gold chain, cash, and cell phones by force.

In another development on the same day, a labourer’s family in Chohar Jamali celebrated the arrival of quadruplets at the government-run Health Centre Mureed Koso.

The newborns- two boys and two girls- were named Kareem Bux, Nabi Bux, Azeeman and Nasmeeyan. Relatives said both the mother and the four infants are in stable condition, and news of the rare birth quickly drew neighbours to their home.

  • Meta accused of withholding evidence linking Facebook use to mental health harm

Meta accused of withholding evidence linking Facebook use to mental health harm

Legal documents in the U.S. assert that Meta discontinued internal studies that indicated a connection between Facebook usage and negative mental health effects.

The documents were filed in a lawsuit initiated by school districts against Meta and other social media companies.

The filing details a 2020 initiative called Project Mercury, which involved Meta’s researchers and the survey company Nielsen, measuring the impact of users deactivating Facebook for a week. Internal papers indicated that “individuals who stopped using Facebook for one week reported decreased levels of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and social comparison.”

According to the filing, Meta ended the project rather than publishing the findings. The documents claim that Meta internally suggested that the results were affected by the prevailing media narrative concerning the company.

One researcher mentioned, “The Nielsen study does show causal impact on social comparison,” and included an unhappy face emoji. Another employee drew a parallel between remaining silent and the tobacco industry, stating it would be akin to “conducting studies and knowing that cigarettes were harmful, then keeping that information hidden.”

The filing contends that Meta informed Congress it had “no ability to quantify whether its products were harmful to teenage girls,” despite possessing the internal findings. It also mentions that similar investigations focusing on Instagram were stopped.

In response, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone stated that the study was terminated due to methodological issues, emphasizing, “The complete record will demonstrate that for over ten years we have heeded parents’ concerns, researched critical issues, and implemented meaningful changes to safeguard teens.”

These allegations are part of a broader lawsuit filed by the law firm Motley Rice, which also includes Google, TikTok, and Snapchat on behalf of school districts in the U.S. The plaintiffs claim that these companies concealed the dangers of their products from users, parents, and educators.

The filing alleges that the companies encouraged children under 13 to engage with their platforms, failed to tackle child sexual abuse material, and sought to boost student usage during school hours.

It also asserts that these companies endeavored to collaborate with child-focused organizations to promote public messages regarding product safety.

TikTok, Google, and Snapchat have not responded to requests for comments. A court hearing on this matter is slated for January 26 in a district court in northern California.

  • Ducky Bhai finally gets bail in gambling app promotion case

Ducky Bhai finally gets bail in gambling app promotion case

YouTuber Saad Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, has finally secured bail from the Lahore High Court in a case related to the promotion of gambling applications.

The court approved his bail on a surety of ten lakh rupees. Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry delivered the verdict, with Rehman’s lawyers, Imran Chadhar and Shehriyar Goraya, present in court.

The case was registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore at midnight on August 17 under sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, read with sections 294B (Offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the inquiry began on June 13 after information from reliable sources suggested that several YouTubers and social media influencers were promoting gambling and betting applications to the public for monetary gain.

Rehman allegedly promoted apps including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, and B9 Game on his YouTube channel, causing viewers to invest their money and suffer financial losses.

The FIR included 27 video links from Rehman’s account that allegedly advertised these apps, though several videos are no longer available.

Rehman had previously applied for bail in the district and sessions court and before a judicial magistrate, but his applications were rejected, prompting him to approach the high court.

He had argued that he was never served any notice by the NCCIA before his arrest.

Earlier this month, the court issued notices to the NCCIA to submit arguments regarding Rehman’s application. In a related development at the end of October, nine NCCIA officers were booked for allegedly misusing their authority, extorting money from Rehman, and taking bribes.
