Khawaja Nafay denies payment issues in BPL

Pakistani cricketer Khawaja Muhammad Nafay has denied reports claiming that he was stranded in Bangladesh because of unpaid dues from his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise.

Earlier, reports surfaced stating that Nafay was stuck in Bangladesh as his franchise had not cleared his full payments. It was also alleged that his return ticket to Pakistan was fake, causing him to be held at Dhaka Airport.

However, the cricketer has now dismissed these claims.

According to a private media outlet, Nafay clarified that he is staying in a five-star hotel, not at the airport, and has received all his payments. His return ticket was not fake, and false news about his situation was being spread.

Previously, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Haris also faced issues in Bangladesh when his team, Durbar Rajshahi, failed to provide return tickets for its players and did not fulfil their payment commitments.

He informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the situation, after which the PCB intervened and resolved the matter by coordinating with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

  • England’s Jacob Bethell ruled out of Champions Trophy after injury

England’s Jacob Bethell ruled out of Champions Trophy after injury

England’s all-rounder Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy after sustaining a hamstring injury during the ongoing ODI series against India.

According to Indian media reports, England captain Jos Buttler has confirmed that the left-handed batter will not be available for the tournament, which is set to take place in Pakistan. Bethell suffered the injury during the first ODI against India in Nagpur.

The 21-year-old made his ODI debut for England in September and showcased an impressive performance in the first match against India, scoring 51 runs and taking the wicket of Shreyas Iyer. However, his injury forced him to miss the remainder of the three-match series, with England calling up Tom Banton as his replacement before the second ODI.

Speaking after England’s loss in the second ODI, Jos Buttler expressed his disappointment over Bethell’s exclusion from the Champions Trophy. “I am quite certain that Jacob is out of the Champions Trophy. This is really unfortunate for him as he played well in the last game and is a talented cricketer,” said Buttler.

He also stated that Bethell’s absence is a setback for England, as he has been one of the most promising players in recent times.

Further details regarding Bethell’s injury status are expected in the coming days, as England has yet to make an official announcement.

The deadline for making changes to the Champions Trophy squad is set for February 12.

The Champions Trophy is scheduled from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and the UAE.

  • Trump: Palestinians have no right of return under Gaza plan

Trump: Palestinians have no right of return under Gaza plan

President Donald Trump said Palestinians would have no right of return to Gaza under his US takeover plan, describing his proposal in excerpts of an interview released Monday as a “real estate development for the future.”

Trump told Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier that “I would own it” and that there could be as many as six different sites for Palestinians to live outside Gaza under the plan, which the Arab world and others in the international community have rejected.

“No, they wouldn’t, because they’re going to have much better housing,” Trump said when Baier asked if the Palestinians would have the right to return to the enclave, most of which has been reduced to rubble by Israel’s military since October 2023.

“In other words, I’m talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it’ll be years before you could ever — it’s not habitable.”

Trump first revealed the shock Gaza plan during a joint news conference with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, drawing outrage from Palestinians.

The US president pressed his case for Palestinians to be moved out of Gaza, devastated by Israel’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and for Egypt and Jordan to take them.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty flew to Washington in the wake of Trump’s remarks. He met at the State Department on Monday with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with neither speaking to the media.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II was set to hold talks with Trump on Tuesday.

In the Fox interview — which will be broadcast Monday after the first half was screened a day earlier — Trump said he would build “beautiful communities” for the more than two million Palestinians who live in Gaza.

“Could be five, six, could be two. But we’ll build safe communities, a little bit away from where they are, where all of this danger is,” added Trump.

“In the meantime, I would own this. Think of it as a real estate development for the future. It would be a beautiful piece of land. No big money spent.”

    ‘Unacceptable’

Trump stunned the world when he announced out of the blue last week that the United States would “take over the Gaza Strip,” remove rubble and unexploded bombs and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

But while he initially said that Palestinians could be among the “world people” allowed to live there, he has since appeared to harden his position to suggest that they could not.

Netanyahu on Sunday praised Trump’s proposal as “revolutionary”, striking a triumphant tone in a statement to his cabinet following his return from Washington.

“President Trump came with a completely different, much better vision for Israel,” said Netanyahu, who was reportedly only briefed on the plan shortly before Trump’s announcement.

The reaction from much of the rest of the world has been one of outrage, with Egypt, Jordan, other Arab nations and the Palestinians all rejecting it out of hand.

The criticism was not limited to the Arab world, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Sunday labeling the plan “a scandal,” adding that the forced relocation of Palestinians would be “unacceptable and against international law.”

Trump’s plan has also threatened to disrupt the fragile six-week ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and the chances of it progressing to a second, more permanent phase.

Trump, however, repeated his insistence that he could persuade Egypt and Jordan, both major recipients of US military aid, to come around.

“I think I could make a deal with Jordan. I think I could make a deal with Egypt. You know, we give them billions and billions of dollars a year,” he told Fox.

Last year, Trump described Gaza as being “like Monaco,” while his son-in-law Jared Kushner suggested that Israel could clear Gaza of civilians to unlock “waterfront property.”

  • Khawaja Nafay stuck in Bangladesh after being given fake ticket

Khawaja Nafay stuck in Bangladesh after being given fake ticket

After Mohammad Haris, another Pakistani cricketer, Khawaja Muhammad Nafay, has found himself stranded in Bangladesh after playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

According to sources, Nafay has not yet received the full payment from his BPL franchise, Chittagong Kings. To make matters worse, the return ticket provided to him turned out to be fake, leaving him stuck at Dhaka Airport with no way to return to Pakistan.

Reports suggest that the franchise is not providing him with any clear answers regarding his payment or travel arrangements.

This incident follows a similar case involving Mohammad Haris, who was also stranded in Bangladesh as a result of poor management by his team, Durbar Rajshahi, failing to provide return tickets to the players. Additionally, the franchise did not pay the players their agreed salaries, creating a financial and logistical crisis for them.

Haris eventually reached out to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for assistance, which stepped in to address the matter.

With another Pakistani player facing the same issues, concerns are growing over the mismanagement and financial irregularities in the BPL, raising questions about the treatment of foreign players in the tournament.

  • PTI’s Swabi power show a flop due to funding shortage: report

PTI’s Swabi power show a flop due to funding shortage: report

Despite some parliamentarians’ financial support requests to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur, no additional funds were released for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) February 8 rally in Swabi.

According to reports, CM Gandapur used to provide funds to party lawmakers to mobilise workers for rallies. However, he did not approve any additional funds for the party’s Feb 8 “Black Day” power show to mark one year since what it claims was a “rigged election” in 2024.

Speaking to a private media outlet, CM’s spokesperson Faraz Mughal said that while Gandapur personally funded some lawmakers to help bring workers to the event, no official funds were released.

PTI Peshawar’s Regional President Muhammad Asim said that a large number of party followers attended the event despite the fact that no special financial assistance was provided to lawmakers for the rally.

Reports, on the other hand, claimed that the rally was not a success as most of the arena remained empty. Around 5,000 to 6,000 individuals attended the gathering, reports said and further claimed that some KP assembly lawmakers did not have enough funds to provide workers with transportation.

However, Adviser to CM on Information and Broadcasting Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif dismissed all claims of a low turn-out, stressing that the rally was successful and attracted a large crowd.

Speaking to the private media outlet, Saif alleged that convoys coming for the rally from Punjab were intercepted, which affected the attendance.

“We had won elections in Punjab. Our mandate was stolen in the darkness of the night [during the polls],” PTI chief Barrister Gohar Ali Khan alleged during his address at the rally in question on Saturday.

The PTI chief stressed the need for independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. “There will be political stability if the judiciary is independent,” he said.

Moving on to the stalled talks between the PTI and the ruling coalition, he said that they entered the negotiation process in line with directions from incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan. “Imran Khan directed to initiate talks for the sake of the country,” he said.

Addressing the rally, CM KP said his party wanted the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution in the country.

For his part, Gandapur warned that if his party decided to take revenge, then the ruling coalition “won’t be able to bear it”. He said that the country would suffer if hatred increased.

  • KSE-100 rises by over 1,000 points, displaying bullish market sentiments

KSE-100 rises by over 1,000 points, displaying bullish market sentiments

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) performed well on Monday, with all index indicators remaining in the green. The PSX’s benchmark index, the KSE-100, increased 1,055 points by the end of intraday trading, closing at 111,377 points.

KSE-100 hit an intraday low of 109,948 points. However, the market witnessed a significant shift as bullish sentiments took charge. According to data from the PSX, KSE-100 experienced a noticeable amount of variation, with the intraday high sitting at a respectable 111,622 points.

The PSX peaked in early January when the KSE-100 crossed 117,000 points. Analysts have argued that Islamabad’s crusade against non-filers and tax evaders resulted in a recent slump in the PSX. Their grounds for making these claims are that Islamabad’s policy measures restricted those not complying with tax laws from partaking in trading activities.

However, with the market seemingly recovering, investors are less likely to complain about Islamabad’s crackdown on non-compliers.

The JS Momentum Factor Index (JSMFI) outperformed every other index as it closed the day 3.22 percent higher than it had been listed for. This increase translates to a 1018-point rise in the index. As per the PSX, the JSMFI tracks the performance of listed stocks with the best momentum. This could help explain the index’s strong performance during trading hours.

Conversely, the JS Global Banking Sector Tradable Index (JSGBKTI) displayed the lowest growth rate among indexes as it grew by a measly 0.06 percent. The JSGBKTI aims to measure the total returns on the Banking Sector Tradable Index. The index closed a little under 17 points higher than the start of intraday trading.

Following the positive trend, the All Share Index posted a healthy 620-point rise, which translates to approximately a one percent increase in its value.

The company that benefitted the most during trading hours was Attock Refinery Limited. Data reveals that the share value of the company surged by 10 percent. Bank of Punjab was a distant second as its shares rose 6.97 percent in value. The only other company to record a six-plus percent increase in share value was Honda Atlas Cars Limited, as its share value rose by 6.41 percent.

Honda’s strong performance on the exchange comes despite being the centre of negative attention in a recent ‘scandalous’ case. Allegedly, corrupt practices were used to grant the auto manufacturer the contract to produce over 1000 cars for the nation’s tax watchdog, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

However, trading comes with significant financial risks. This was demonstrated by Pak-Gulf Leasing Company Limited’s 9.38 percent nosedive during intraday trading. Furthermore, Punjab Oil Mills Limited declined significantly as it lost approximately five percent of its share value during trading hours.

  • February 9 Declared ‘Gulf of America Day’ After Gulf of Mexico Renaming By Donald Trump

February 9 Declared ‘Gulf of America Day’ After Gulf of Mexico Renaming By Donald Trump

Last Sunday, US President Donald Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America and signed an executive order declaring February 9 “Gulf of America Day.” This proclamation came shortly after Executive Order 14172, signed on January 20, 2025, which stated that the official name had been changed to Gulf of America.

The executive order, ‘Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness,’ mandated that the interior secretary implement the name change within a month of its signing.

Trump signed the proclamation last Sunday on board Air Force One, which was traveling to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. This marks his first trip to the Gulf of Mexico since it was renamed, and He urges the citizens of America to accept the change.

He called for public officials and citizens to celebrate Gulf of America Day with ceremonies and programs celebrating the region’s contributions to the nation’s prosperity. Reports suggest that the United States Coast Guard has already adopted the use of the Gulf of America in their official communications.

Trump emphasized the relevance of the renaming. He noted that this area was significant to America’s growth and economic might. “This is no wonder because in restoring American pride in America’s historical accomplishments, it is appropriate for our great nation to gather in honor of this great turning point and the renaming of the Gulf of America,” he said.

The change may begin to appear on official government documents and maps. However, it was unclear if schools would officially use the new name.

This happened just as tensions rose between Trump and Mexico. The 78-year-old recently threatened a 25 percent tariff on goods from Mexico, although he halted that idea after Mexico agreed to send 10,000 National Guard troops to the border.

    Mexico’s Response to Trump’s Order

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum initially laughed off Trump’s order.

When Trump made his suggestion early in the year, Sheinbaum responded with a retort for North America: “América Mexicana,” or “Mexican America,” referring to a phrase from a 19th-century document. The week of Trump’s inauguration, she told reporters that he could name the Gulf whatever he wanted.

That was even before she took Google to task last week when it announced its plans to comply.

At a press conference on Thursday, she confronted reporters with a copy of a letter she e-mailed to Google stating that clarification of the gulf can’t come from one country. She cited the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. She noted that a country’s territorial sovereignty cannot extend more than 12 nautical miles from baseline areas along the coastal line.

“In other words, if a country wants to change the designation of something in the sea, it would only apply to 12 nautical miles. It cannot apply to the rest, for instance, the Gulf of Mexico,” Sheinbaum said. “And that’s what we have explained in detail to Google.”

Fans React to Kodak Black Eating Chicken in the Street

A viral video of Kodak Black has caused fans to worry about his mental state. The video shows him sitting in the street and chomping on a chicken.

Initially uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) by Rain Drops Media, the footage involves 26-year-old rapper Bill K. Kapri. He seems to be behaving unusually, which led fans to speculate about his mental and physical well-being.

The video has since been going viral on social media, with reshares attracting attention for the bizarre nature of the scene. Many fans took to Twitter and Instagram to express concern and question whether Kodak received the right help and support.

Some users on Twitter responded, “He needs rehab, & nobody is going to do nothing till his money runs out.” Another commented, “Dude needs help, and people want pictures, lol crazy.” There were suspicions of drug abuse based on his tumultuous history.

This incident follows other odd public appearances by the rapper, including a live stream with content creator Kai Cenat that showed Kodak eating food off the street. Events like these have quelled fans’ fear regarding his mental condition and private battles.

Neither Kodak Black nor his representatives have formally commented on the viral video. However, fans continue to ask those closest to him to step in and provide the help he may so earnestly need.

Kanye West Plans to Mentor Kodak Black

Kodak Black caught the attention of Kanye West, aka Ye, when he was spotted in a viral video eating chicken in the street with a DONDA chain on. He was immediately symbolically linked to Kodack.

Ye now wants to mentor Kodack to foster growth among younger artists. After viewing Kodack’s infamous video, Ye reached out to him, seeing the opportunity to guide him as an artist. He wants to help ignite the spark of creativity within Kodak as well.

Kodak previously expressed his wish to work with Ye, and now that he has the chance, he wants to initiate a non-musical collaboration. These two artists have a long-standing mutual respect, so it would be easy for them to work together smoothly.

Kanye West has collaborated with Kodak Black, the latest of which is the track Field Trip from the album Vultures 2, which features Don Toliver and Playboi Carti. Black and Peso Pluma also contributed to the track Drunk. Black worked with West and Ty Dolla $ign on the Digital Deluxe version of Vultures 2.

The partnership is going somewhere, given Kodack’s desire for Yeh to help his career. Fans are waiting impatiently to see what magical results this work will produce.

In a later video, Kanye West said Kodak Black was in Atlanta.

Kanye West initially claimed he was flying to Miami to help Kodak Black. In the following video, he corrected himself and said he later found out Black was in Atlanta, not Miami. He said he was heading to Atlanta immediately and asked people to let him help Black.
