Kendrick Lamar Tweaks Lyrics of ‘Not Like Us’ for Super Bowl Halftime Appearance

Serena Williams’ appearance in the Super Bowl Halftime Show was a crushing blow to Drake courtesy of Kendrick Lamar, who seems to have come to their altercations during his Super Bowl performance. Even the Super Bowl stage couldn’t contain Kendrick Lamar from taking shots at Drake.

On February 9th, Lamar entertained at Ceasers Superdome right before his Grammy-winning song “Not Like Us.” The song is known for its diss toward his rival hip-hop singer and was notable during the feud.

Because Serena Williams made an unexpected appearance, Kendrick Lamar added another strike in Drake’s direction. The caption and Lamar’s accomplice briefly dated the God’s Plan singer in 2011. He added more suspense and stir to the performance.

Before performing live, Kendrick said, “I want to play their favorite song. However, you know they love to sue.” The line was sarcastically directed at the “Family Matters” singer while highlighting Drake’s case against UMG.

Drake allegedly sued the label, claiming defamation for, in his words, “saying I am a pedophile” in Not Like Us. Incredibly, the ‘Bad Blood’ singer used freestyle during the Super Bowl and avoided the elitist term “paedophile,” which he initially used in the lyrics of the song.

Along with Not Like Us, Lamar also showed his skills in popular songs such as HUMBLE and Squabble Up. At the same time, SZA was on stage to perform a powerful song.

Taylor Swift Fans React to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Show

Fans of Taylor Swift expressed frustration over Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show after he did not perform the hit song “Bad Blood” with Swift. As is expected of these fans, many were looking forward to her showing up to sing the song alongside Kendrick. The fact that he chose to perform the song “Bad Blood” with Swift was a huge letdown. Many took to the internet to express their fury over this decision.

As expected of Swifties, many opponents contest it as they strongly believe that Kendrick Lamar showing off a verse from “Bad Blood” would have increased his standing tremendously. The fact that Kendrick would be the main act at the 2025 Super Bowl was widely anticipated. However, many fans were disappointed by the performance and the song’s exclusion.

Nick Foles Can’t Help but Troll Tom Brady Following Eagles’ Super Bowl Victory

Nick Foles added fuel to the fire on Sunday night by slightly digging at Tom Brady.

After Sunday’s match, former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, the MVP of the previous season’s Super Bowl win, took to social media to lightheartedly criticize Tom Brady while celebrating the win. He wrote that it is pretty amazing that Brady attended the Eagles’ two Super Bowl victories. He may be a very effective good luck charm.

Foles couldn’t have enjoyed himself more after Super Bowl LIX, where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by 40-22.

Foles was named the MVP of the 2018 Super Bowl, which featured Brady and the New England Patriots as the opposing team. That season, Carson Wentz enabled and backed Foles. He played fantastically well in the second half of the season when Wentz was injured.

Tom Brady now works as a commentator, and alongside Kevin Burkhardt on Fox, he called Amazingly Ryan’s first game of the season. He is bound to Fox TV after signing a substantial 10-year deal.

There is much to point out about the Chiefs’ championship season. Saquon Barkley broke many records throughout the season. Moreover, quarterback Jalen Hurts led them to an NFC East title and won the Super Bowl MVP award. Tom Brady had nothing to do with that.

But the Eagles are 2-0 in the Super Bowl with Tom Brady in the building. That’s not up for debate. Eagles ownership will have to find a way to bring him there next time they make it to the Super Bowl.

    When Did Tom Brady Retire?

Tom Brady is a retired NFL player who played his final game in 2022. He is recognized for his unmatched sports achievements

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB, whom Brady played one season with, decided to retire after his initial decision to quit the previous year. This decision came almost a year after his notable winning seasons with the franchise.

Brady retired from the National Football League at approximately 45 after engaging for 23 years in college football, followed by several years in the NFL. Along with other accomplishments, he is undoubtedly one of the best players ever. He was part of the formidable New England Patriots during their most successful years. He achieved key milestones with the franchise, including passing touchdowns, playable yards, wins with his team, and MVP accolades.

In May 2022, while with the Buccaneers, Brady signed a ten-year agreement with Fox for 375 million dollars. Afterward, he took a year off before starting his new role in the booth in February 2023.

Rohit Sharma Shines with a Century as India Beat England by 4 Wickets to Seal the ODI Series

India vs. England, 2nd ODI Highlights: Rohit Sharma takes India over the line by 4 wickets against England and claims the series on Sunday.

India won the second ODI on Sunday. The series was won after Rohit Sharma paced with 119 runs and Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets. England chose to bat first and all out at a 304 score. It was a one-person show in the second half as the Indian captain scored 119 in just 90 deliveries with the help of four singles, twelve fours, and seven sixes.

Scoring his 32nd ODI century made him move ahead of Rahul Dravid in the international tons rank. He is now third behind Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 and Virat Kohli’s 81. He has now scored 48 international centuries and is second after Kohli. Rohit also climbed the ODI sixes leaderboard ahead of Chris Gayl, who is 331. He ranks second with the most ODI sixes. Only Shahid Afridi, with 351, has more.

Rohit Sharma Early Life and Career

Rohit Sharma was born in Maharashtra, India, on April 30, 1987. In 1999, he attended a cricket camp after coach Dinesh Lad was able to identify his skills. Dinesh Lad was friends with his uncle. He searched for good talent and was particularly impressed with Sharma’s bowling. Knowing that Sharma’s uncle could not afford the fees at the school where he worked, Lad persuaded the headmaster to take Sharma without payment so he could access better training resources. This way, Lad would ensure there is a good spinner in batting later on in his career.

Sharma’s first senior appearance was with West Zone in a List A match during the Deodhar Trophy. Here, he scored an unbeaten 31 against Central Zone in 2006. His run of scores, which got him noticed during the tournament, earned him a spot on the India A squad. In a later match in 2006, Sharma made his first-class debut for India A. He played against New Zealand at Darwin. His scores in the two innings were 57 and 22, respectively.

India defeated New Zealand by three wickets. After that, he played for Mumbai in the 2006-07 Ranji Trophy season and became one of the emerging stars in the challenging Indian domestic circuit. His performances during the season included a double hundred against Gujarat and a winning half-century in the tournament’s final.

    International Career

Rohit Sharma began his international cricket career in 2007 with the ODI and T20I debuts, although he had not entirely found his footing. Years remained in earnest struggle with form and fitness issues. However, the opener’s promotion to ODI took place in 2013, which was the breakthrough. Thereafter, his career skyrocketed. He broke numerous records, including the highest individual score in ODIs at 264 and the second Indian to hit a hundred across all three formats. His glory included captaincy with multiple series wins, including swashbuckling in the 2017 ODI series against Sri Lanka. He brought his team to the 2019 World Cup semifinals, scoring five centuries during the World Cup.

Sharma first served as vice-captain of the Test team in 2020. After gaining the role of captain of the Indian team in all formats in 2022, he led India with dominance for a successful period. Most notably, Sharma accumulated several centuries, setting the record for the most sixes in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Sharma’s heroics led India to T20I World Cup success in 2024, with three half-centuries, thus marking his retirement from the T20I form of cricket after India’s victory.

  • IMF’s governance review could strengthen Pakistan’s anti-corruption efforts

IMF’s governance review could strengthen Pakistan’s anti-corruption efforts

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is conducting thorough checks on Pakistan’s judicial and regulatory systems under the current $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. As per reports, an IMF technical team recently began its seven-day assessment period of governance-related institutions to help Islamabad grapple with the longstanding issue of corruption.

In October 2024, Islamabad agreed with the IMF to strengthen its anti-corruption institutions and enhance growth inclusivity to foster a more equitable environment for businesses and investors.

Following this agreement, officials set July 2025 as the deadline to publish the Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Assessment (GCDA) report. As per the Ministry of Finance, officials are supposed to provide policy recommendations to tackle governance and corruption-related ‘vulnerabilities’.

According to reports, the IMF’s mission is to collaborate with senior judiciary personnel, financial regulatory bodies, taxation officials, and electoral officers.

The assessment will study lapses surrounding six fundamental state operations, namely fiscal administration, central bank operation, financial market oversight, market regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and anti-money laundering institutions.

The IMF intends to find vulnerabilities in the aforementioned state operations by analysing data from the State Bank of Pakistan, the Finance Division, the Federal Board of Revenue, the Auditor General’s Office, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Election Commission, and the Ministry of Law and Justice.

According to reports, the GCDA report will offer recommendations to fight corruption, allowing lawmakers in Islamabad to boost the effectiveness of its institutions. If the IMF is able to assist Islamabad in this manner, the resulting governance system might help Pakistan enjoy sustainable economic growth – since a lack of corruption and transparency helps foster a business-friendly environment.

Historically, the global economic watchdog’s main focus has been fixing international macroeconomic issues. However, the IMF occasionally provides guidance to countries to promote public sector transparency as per the finance ministry.

According to the IMF’s guidelines, economic stability depends on following the law, improving the public sector, and combating corruption. The IMF initiated its governance policy in 1997 and strengthened it in 2018 by introducing a new member-country engagement framework.

Apart from Pakistan, multiple countries have received GCDA reports through this framework, including Sri Lanka, Zambia, and Cameroon. Reports reveal that ten more reviews are ongoing, with a few still under consideration.

Once the review is complete in Pakistan, Islamabad will be required to reveal its results. Islamabad has also pledged to amend legislation to empower the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) only if the Supreme Court gives its approval. If passed, the amendments will allow NAB to tackle growing instances of money laundering and corruption.

  • Trump’s statement on Khan: Najam Sethi says govt not worried

Trump’s statement on Khan: Najam Sethi says govt not worried

Political analyst Najam Sethi has said on Sunday that the incumbent government has already prepared a response in case United States (US) President Donald J. Trump gives a statement about incarcerated former Premier Imran Khan.

“I believe Trump could give a statement at some stage. However, it will be of little importance. They [the incumbent government] have prepared for it [Trump’s anticipated statement],” Sethi disclosed while speaking on his show on a news channel.

Sethi claimed that the incumbent government has the confidence of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS). “MBS is with them [the incumbent government], and they are with MBS. Everything is under control,” he added.

Sethi downplayed a letter issued by US House of Representatives member Joe Wilson asking Pakistan to free Imran Khan, stating that nobody is talking about Imran Khan except Wilson. “[US] State Department has clarified that they will not interfere in Pakistan’s internal affairs.”

Republican Joe Wilson, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to announce that he had written a letter to Pakistan.

The US Congressman shared the letter with the caption: “Grateful to send this letter today to the political and military leaders of Pakistan to Free Imran Khan. I will also be engaging the Trump administration on this issue. US-Pakistan relations are strongest when Pakistan is democratic. Free Imran Khan.”

The letter read, “… I have many disagreements with Mr. Khan, particularly his stance in support of the Chinese Communist Party and War Criminal Putin. However, democracy cannot work if political opponents are unjustly detained on politicised charges rather than defeated in the ballot box.”

“I urge Pakistan to uphold democratic institutions, human rights, and the rule of law, and respect the fundamental guarantees of due process, freedom of press, freedom of assembly and freedom of speech of the people of Pakistan.”

Hours after writing a letter to Pakistani civilian and military leadership for the release of jailed ex-PM Imran Khan, Wilson reiterated his demand on the floor of the House.

Addressing the House, the congressman said, “[I have] strong disagreements with Imran Khan, including his policies towards war criminal Vladimir Putin and the Chinese Communist Party. However, political opponents should be defeated in democratic elections, not jailed on fabricated charges.”

Meanwhile, commenting on his recent statements that former First Lady Bushra Bibi could potentially be an asset for the establishment, Sethi said, “I have inquired whether she has become an asset or not. I received feedback that Bushra Bibi, while viewing Khan Sahab’s support base, has stepped back even if she was willing to become an asset.”

“She [Bushra Bibi] realises that supporting Khan is essential, and it is necessary to hold a militant position to keep the party alive,” the former Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman (PCB) added.

  • ‘Blasphemy case’: Mark Zuckerberg reveals why he avoids coming to Pakistan

‘Blasphemy case’: Mark Zuckerberg reveals why he avoids coming to Pakistan

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Meta – the parent company of social media giants Facebook and Instagram – has revealed why he avoids visiting Pakistan.

In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Zuckerberg said that he once faced legal trouble in Pakistan on blasphemy allegations.

Narrating a story from 2010, he said a criminal investigation was launched against him in Pakistan over a blasphemous contest on Facebook.

“The investigation was launched under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws that can carry the death penalty,” he said, explaining that it all started when someone pointed out how drawing caricatures was committing blasphemy against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Islamic culture.

“This led to legal action in Pakistan, preventing me from travelling there due to possible legal risks.”

Zuckerberg also highlighted the challenges tech companies face in handling different cultural and legal rules worldwide. “There are all these places around the world that just have different values… and want us to crack down on and ban way more stuff than I think a lot of people would believe is the right thing to do,” he noted.

It merits a mention that a spike has been recorded in the number of cases against Pakistan’s blasphemy laws in recent years. Most of these cases pertain to alleged blasphemy over the internet on social media platforms.

Just last month a court awarded death sentence to four men for uploading blasphemous content on Facebook. Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Tariq Ayub convicted Wajid Ali, Ahfaq Ali Saqib, Rana Usman and Suleman Sajid for insulting the Prophet (PBUH).

“The judge after hearing arguments of both prosecution and defence and witnesses accounts awarded the death penalty and 80 years imprisonment to each of them on different counts,” reports quoted an official as saying.

Meanwhile, a report issued by the Special Branch in Punjab has revealed that over 400 young boys and girls are reportedly being persecuted in Pakistan under the blasphemy law for sharing blasphemous content on the internet.

The report stated that a suspicious gang “The Blasphemy Business” was trapping young boys and girls into “committing” blasphemy and then reported them to the Federal Investigating Agency (FIA). The gang was reportedly doing this heinous act for financial gain.

FIA confirmed receiving the report on the “The Blasphemy Business” group in January 2024, in which it mentioned that a special gang was a complainant in 90 per cent of blasphemy cases, the document added.

  • Majority of Americans reject Trump’s plan to take over Gaza

Majority of Americans reject Trump’s plan to take over Gaza

A majority of Americans have rejected US President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to take over Gaza in occupied Palestine.

A CBS poll has shown that 47 percent of respondents opposed the plan, calling it a “bad idea” while only 13 percent supported it. Another 40 percent said that their opinion will depend upon the circumstances or were unsure.

Widespread condemnation of the plan hasn’t deterred Trump who told reporters on Air Force One on Sunday that he is “committed to buying and owning” Gaza.

“We’re committed to owning it, taking it, and making sure that Hamas doesn’t move back. There’s nothing to move back into. The place is a demolition site,” he said.

The President himself received approval from 53 percent of respondents who were satisfied by his approach to the conflict.

The poll of 2,175 adults had a margin error of 2.5 percent points.

An overall majority, 54 percent, said they approved of Trump so far in his presidency. However, a clear majority, 66 percent, said that Trump was not doing enough to lower prices of consumer goods, a key promise he made during his election campaign.

His plans to impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada and the European Union were opposed by 56 percent while a similar number approved of the 10 percent tariff he had imposed on China.

American Presidents usually enjoy positive approval ratings at the beginning of their terms. Barack Obama had a 66 percent approval rating when he started his presidential term in 2009, while Joe Biden had a 57 percent rating one month after becoming President in 2020. Trump himself had the lowest first term approval ratings of any President in the past 70 years when he started off with 44 percent in 2016.

  • Red zone sealed as lawyers take to streets in Islamabad

Red zone sealed as lawyers take to streets in Islamabad

As lawyers take to streets of the federal capital against the 26th Constitutional Amendment, heavy contingents of law enforcement have been deployed to seal the Red Zone and restrict access to the Supreme Court.

As per the details, the metro bus service connecting Rawalpindi and Islamabad has also partially been suspended whereas containers and barriers have been erected at Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Marriott Hotel, Express Chowk and T-Cross Bari Imam. The Jinnah Underpass has also been blocked.

The closures come as lawyers protest against the 26th Constitutional Amendment, demand that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan’s (JCP) meeting scheduled for today (Monday) be called off, no new judicial appointments be made till the case pertaining to the amendment is decided and the senior-most judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) be made its chief justice.

While six leading bar associations, including representatives of the Pakistan Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar Association, Punjab Bar Council, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, Balochistan High Court Bar Association and Sindh High Court Bar Association, have condemned the protests, saying that political groups within the legal community were attempting to advance their agendas, senior lawyers, including Ali Ahmad Kurd maintain they are demanding independence of judiciary.

A viral video showed Kurd asking cops in Islamabad to let the lawyers head to the IHC. “We are going to Islamabad High Court… our friends are waiting there,” he said.

Speaking to media, Kurd said that he would continue to stand by the lawyers on the issue. “Being in power does not make people great. Those who passed the amendment at 2:00 in the night should be ashamed of themselves. We don’t accept the amendment,” he said.

Other senior lawyer, including those affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have also voiced support for the protesters and their demands.

While another viral video showed lawyers clashing with police on the roads of the federal capital, the aforementioned bar associations have endorsed the 26th Amendment and subsequent legislation, saying they consider them integral parts of the Constitution.

The protests come as the JCP gears up to meet today and consider the elevation of eight high court judges to the apex court despite calls from some judges and sections of the legal community to defer the same.

Earlier, four apex court judges, including two commission members, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Munib Akhtar, wrote to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, who also heads the JCP, requesting a postponement.

The top judge leads the 13-member JCP that includes four judges of the apex court and parliamentarians from both the treasury and opposition benches.
