‘I should’ve been cast as Geet’; Hira Mani on Kareena Kapoor’s iconic role

Pakistani actor Hira Mani believes that Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali may have been inspired by her for the character of Geet in the romantic classic Jab We Met.

In a recent virtual interview with an Indian journalist, Hira shared that people often compare her to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s iconic character Geet, from Jab We Met. She said, “Everyone feels I should’ve been cast as Geet because my personality matches that character. Yes, she is somewhat like me.”

She jokingly added, “Imtiaz Ali must have met me somewhere, so he wrote that character like me.”

However, the Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat actor also spoke about the downside of such comparisons.

“Even if your personality is actually like that, people think you’re trying to copy the character.” She confessed, “Yes, I do mimic her at times.”

It is worth mentioning that Imtiaz Ali’s blockbuster rom-com Jab We Met, released in 2007, is one of the most-loved Indian films of all times. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan as Geet and Aditya, the film was a huge success and won several major awards.

Security guard to model: Abdul Waheed’s unexpected rise to stardom

Hold on to your hats, ladies and gents—Abdul Waheed, a security guard at a local fashion store, is on his way to becoming the next big thing in modeling.

A viral video posted by a clothing brand introduced Abdul Waheed, showcasing his transformation from a security guard to a potential star. The brand’s Instagram post captured attention with the caption:

“Hey girls, hold your horses! Meet Abdul Waheed, our DHA branch security guard, who’s about to become a superstar very soon! Watch his transformation—he’s no longer just keeping our store safe, he’s about to make it famous!

The post further encouraged brands to consider Abdul Waheed for modeling opportunities, highlighting that he has a family to support and deserves recognition.

Stories like Abdul Waheed’s prove that talent can be discovered in the most unexpected places. His rise reminds us of Arshad Khan, famously known as ‘Chaiwala,’ who became an internet sensation in 2016 after his picture at a tea stall went viral. His overnight fame led to a successful modeling career and an appearance in a film.

Though Arshad Khan later returned to his tea business, setting up tea cafes, calling it his true identity, he has not left the entertainment industry. He continues to model, work on advertisements, and is set to appear as a Pakistan Army officer in the upcoming movie 24 Hours, expected to release in December. He also plans to open tea cafés across Pakistan, turning his passion into a business.

With Abdul Waheed now in the spotlight, many wonder if he will follow a similar path to success. His story is just beginning, and the possibilities are endless.

  • Qarz e Jaan: Gen Z’s dilemma—marry for love or family?

Qarz e Jaan: Gen Z’s dilemma—marry for love or family?

Qarz e Jaan keeps us hooked with its web of interesting characters and their complex journeys. Nashwa and Burhan’s relationship is becoming more intriguing by the episode.

One of the most gripping moments was when Asim declared that he hates Bisma. Years of bitterness, anger, and an unfulfilled love story have made him resentful. But deep down, we know he still loves her. Is Bisma just as indignant about their past? Faisal Rehman’s performance is remarkable, and his chemistry with the other characters is stellar.

Burhan, Faryal, and Nashwa discussing potential life partners was an interesting and relatable conversation. The outdoor scenes and young cousins heading out for a cup of chai in a shaadi household were so authentic. These moments, about finding the right person and whether to marry within or outside the family, are very relatable to Gen Z.

The conversation between Qudsia and Asim about the past and how Burhan was adopted was also fascinating. Now we know that Asim never got married. Perhaps if someone tells Bisma, she might have a change of heart towards him. We’re counting on Qudsia to make that happen.

While Qarz e Jaan is progressing well, one scene that felt out of place was the cousins’ photoshoot. Burhan using his phone camera to take pictures, especially of Nashwa, seemed unnecessary and could have been executed better.

What will Ammar and Bakhtiar do now that Maheen’s case has been reopened? Nashwa reminding Ammar that he might need a lawyer made us curious. Will she help Ammar fight his case, even if it means going against Burhan? The story could get really interesting here, especially since Burhan taught her to keep personal emotions aside when handling a case.

The elders are thinking of marrying Faryal and Ammar, but it seems like Burhan and Nashwa have other plans.

Qarz e Jaan keeps us engaged, eagerly waiting to see what happens next.

  • Tan Man Neel O Neel: Twists of love, betrayal, and justice

Tan Man Neel O Neel: Twists of love, betrayal, and justice

Tan Man Neel O Neel continues to beautifully explore human emotions and relationships that everyone can relate to.

From Ehsaan’s jealousy and Mehnaaz’s timidity to Rabi’s bravery and outspokenness and Sonu’s role as the perfect partner—loving and respectful. Moon, a troubled soul seeking justice; Kami, the villain enjoying his victories; and Rao Kashif and Qaiser’s exploitation of others for their gain.

The drama is coming to an end soon, but the final decisions are yet to be made. Will Rabi and Sonu find happiness? Will Ehsaan face consequences? Why do Mehnaaz and Rabi have to suffer when they did nothing wrong?

The latest episode focused on Ehsaan and Mehnaaz, played by Nauman Masood and Nadia Afgan, who delivered incredible performances.

Mehnaaz demands justice from her husband and then apologises for making him cry.

Finally, she is stunned into silence by his latest revelation. Afgan’s performance as Mehnaaz was outstanding.

Masood portrays Ehsaan’s inner suffering as his heart breaks, shattering everything Mehnaaz holds dear. Together, they delivered a memorable scene that will stay with us.

Rao Kashif’s death at the hands of Qaiser was a well-executed scene. The camera angles, the final fall, and Kami’s sadistic pleasure created a dark, intense moment. Director Saife Hasan and writer Mustafa Afridi crafted a scene that many creators can be inspired by.

Despite the dark moments, the drama also highlights the sweet bond between Sonu and Rabi. They meet and exchange endearments, discovering why and when they fell in love.

The story sheds light on dance and music as legitimate career choices for young adults. Rabi’s mother questions Sonu’s career choice, but Rabi confidently responds that dance is his chosen path.

The drama keeps us curious about Kami’s next move and whether Qaiser will face justice. How will Rabi and Sonu stay safe from Kami? And will Ehsaan pay for his past deeds?

Tan Man Neel O Neel may be ending, but it still has a lot to keep us hooked.

  • Ducky Bhai promises to refund money after severe backlash on ‘course’

Ducky Bhai promises to refund money after severe backlash on ‘course’

Amid growing backlash, Ducky Bhai has addressed the controversy surrounding ‘Join Elite Group‘ on Monday in a YouTube podcast with Talha Reviews.

He officially announced his withdrawal from the project and promised full refunds to all customers who had purchased courses.

“We are withdrawing from the matter of the entire course, and all of you will receive refunds. Now, whoever purchased the course must act responsibly. You need to send a screen recording of the email you received, along with your ID. There will be a support email where only a short screen recording is required.”

Talking about how buyers can get a refund, he said, “You have to record your screen. You must be inside the website. Once inside, press the home button and go to your bank account. You can blur or crop your personal information—no issue. Just show the date when the negative 5,000 was deducted and credited to the ‘Join Elite Group’ account. That’s all. A 20- to 30-second screen recording is enough. It will be verified, and you will receive your refund. Simple. Also, send your bank details so the refund can be processed accordingly.”

However, his other partners, Rajab Butt and Nadeem Nani Wala, have not responded yet to his statement.

    What is Join Elite Group?

Famous Pakistani vloggers Rajab Butt, Ducky Bhai (Saad ur Rehman), and Nadeem Naniwala recently launched a new online learning platform called ‘Join Elite Group’. The platform offers paid courses on topics like TikTok live streaming, business startups, cryptocurrency investments, YouTube vlogging, and online store management.

However, since its launch, Join Elite Group has faced intense criticism. Many have questioned its legitimacy and accused the creators of monetizing their audience unfairly. Critics argue that much of the knowledge being sold in these courses is already available for free on platforms like YouTube and social media.

The courses include TikTok Live Streaming, which focuses on monetization strategies for live sessions, and Business Startups, providing insights on how to launch and manage a business.

The Cryptocurrency Investments course helps participants understand and navigate the crypto market, while the YouTube Growth course teaches how to build a successful YouTube channel.

Additionally, the E-commerce Expertise course covers how to establish and optimize online stores, equipping individuals with the skills needed to thrive in the digital marketplace.

Despite these ambitious claims, the platform faced technical issues from day one. Users reported problems such as high traffic errors, frequent “too many requests” messages, and failed sign-ups, fueling scepticism about the project’s reliability.

The platform’s credibility took a major hit after several prominent YouTubers and influencers criticized it. Journalist Sheraz Butt mocked the initiative, questioning the creators’ credentials and intentions. He pointed out that Ducky Bhai himself once admitted in a podcast that he is “not a teacher” and does not provide educational content.

Additionally, YouTubers Talha Reviews, Maaz Safdar, and Ali Butt labelled the project a “scam”. They advised fans to avoid spending money on courses that offer knowledge freely available online.

Qarz e Jaan: Unraveling secrets, shattered love, and family feuds

Love stories in dramas are like biryani—you think you’ve seen every kind, but then one comes along with just the right spice to keep you hooked.

Qarz e Jaan is moving fast. Whether we’re interested in Ammar’s story or Burhan and Nashwa’s, one thing’s for sure, Asim and Bisma have captured our attention!

The drama should be applauded for showing a mature love story. Pakistani dramas usually focus on young love stories, but this one is different. Bisma and Asim’s story is refreshing. The talented cast, including Tazeen Hussain and Faisal Rehman, entertain us with heartfelt performances.

The first meeting between Nashwa and Asim was adorable. Nashwa’s excitement and Faisal Rehman’s acting with Yumna Zaidi were perfect. Another interesting moment was when Bee Jaan meets Nashwa at the mall and asks her to pick an outfit, not knowing who she is. These small moments keep the story balanced between intensity and light-heartedness.

While Ammar and Bakhtiyar were missing from the episode, Nashwa’s grandmother added some drama. She seems to have her struggles, denying Bisma pleasures. Does she have a backstory of her own?

Asim and Bisma’s meeting was much-awaited. Bisma, as expected, held on to her emotions. It was interesting to see Asim holding her responsible for past decisions, and Bisma blaming him for her marriage to Behzad. The father-son duo of Burhan and Asim have Bisma confused. Did Asim marry? Where is his wife? These questions are troubling her.

Both Asim and Bisma are holding on to their memories. Bisma keeps it deep inside, while Asim is more open.

What happens next between Asim and Bisma? Was there a conspiracy to keep them apart? How will the family react to their feelings for each other? With Ammar’s case reopened, the family divide will get deeper.

Qarz e Jaan is turning out to be quite an intriguing watch.

  • Opportunity or scam? New project from Ducky Bhai, Rajab Butt, Nadeem Naniwala slammed by critics

Opportunity or scam? New project from Ducky Bhai, Rajab Butt, Nadeem Naniwala slammed by critics

Famous Pakistani vloggers Rajab Butt, Ducky Bhai (Saad ur Rehman), and Nadeem Naniwala have launched a new learning platform called ‘Join Elite Group’. This platform offers paid courses on TikTok live streams, business startups, cryptocurrency investments, YouTube vlogging, and online store management.

However, the project has faced significant backlash, with critics questioning its legitimacy and intentions.

Join Elite Group is an online platform designed to offer a variety of paid courses aimed at professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and enthusiasts. The courses cover a range of topics, including:

TikTok Live Streaming: Strategies and best practices for monetizing live streams.

Business Startups: Guidance on launching and managing businesses effectively.

Cryptocurrency Investments: Insights into trading and navigating the crypto market.

YouTube Growth: Techniques to start, grow, and sustain YouTube channels while boosting engagement.

E-commerce Expertise: Methods to establish and optimize online stores for increased sales.

Despite these ambitious offerings, the platform’s credibility has been called into question by a growing number of critics.

Since its launch, the Join Elite Group website has struggled with technical problems. Users have reported high traffic issues, frequent “too many requests” errors, and difficulties signing up, which has fueled skepticism about the platform’s reliability and transparency.

Journalist Sheraz Butt, who has 496K followers on Instagram, recently criticized the project in a viral video. He questioned the integrity of the creators, saying:

“These are the same creators who sold their private lives like a reality show. Now they claim that they will teach the youth how to earn money?” YouTuber Sheraz also mocked their courses, adding:

“YouTube is a trend that may end in a year. Are they trying to make money now by selling courses on how to earn from YouTube? It’s laughable.”

He argued that these creators gained fame by showcasing their families and private lives, and now they are monetizing their audience by selling knowledge that is freely available online.

Adding fuel to the fire, Ducky Bhai’s past remarks have resurfaced. In a podcast, he admitted, “I am not a teacher to provide knowledge.”

However, while promoting the project, he stated, “You have supported us for years; now it’s our turn to give back and help you stand on your feet.”

The criticism doesn’t stop there. Talha Reviews, another YouTuber, labeled the project a “scam.”

Similarly, popular YouTubers Maaz Safdar and Ali Butt advised fans to avoid the initiative, pointing out that free resources for learning about YouTube and online earning are readily available.

Many fans and critics alike have questioned the credibility of these courses, calling them a “fraud business.”

Hundreds of YouTubers with global followings offer free seminars, courses and tips on how to grow online audiences. TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and nearly all social media platforms carry such content, easily searchable and in easy to understand terms.

Many Pakistanis too have posted such videos, offering breakdowns of algorithms and financial benefits, completely free of charge.

  • Meem Se Mohabbat exposes workplace harassment, Roshi’s struggle for empowerment

Meem Se Mohabbat exposes workplace harassment, Roshi’s struggle for empowerment

Every week, Meem Se Mohabbat brings us a story of relatable challenges, workplace dynamics, and the struggles of a young girl finding her place in a complicated world.

However, in this week’s episodes, the drama features some compelling scenes.

Roshi’s journey becomes more relatable and less exaggerated, which is a pleasing development. Talha, too, stands out as a strict boss.

Shariq pressures Roshi to go to a party, and her actions – defiant yet harmless, gullible yet relatable – warm us up to her character development.

Dananeer’s acting has been impressive in recent episodes, as she balances being a clever young girl who gets into trouble because she believes in herself. Youth is a double-edged sword, achieving yet juggling between being smart and silly, and Roshi is that juggler in Meem Se Mohabbat.

Some of her actions may seem like big plans made in good faith, such as calling Dr. Gopal to reschedule the appointment. Others might appear frivolous, like sending off that email, or even defiant, like becoming friends with Shariq, who is any young girl’s worst nightmare.

Meem Se Mohabbat is something of a mix between Haseena Moin’s Ankahi and Dhoop Kinare: an angry boss hero and a bumbling young heroine who becomes courageous until she makes a big mistake and the handsome boss swoops in to save the day.

The scenario where Shariq manipulates Roshi into attending a shady party is well-executed and believable. Even though a young girl may seem headstrong and sure of herself, she failed to confront Shariq for taking credit for her work and was deceived by his birthday plan and late-office scheme.

It is interesting how Talha saved the day when he found Shariq and Roshi working late, removed her from the project, and changed her seating arrangement.

However, as a viewer, one wonders why Shariq faced no consequences. Why didn’t Talha warn him? Shariq’s behaviour should not be tolerated in the office, and he should have been reprimanded.

Talha’s cautionary words to Roshi – “Don’t stay back with anyone, not even me” – were important. He did drop her home, though. How can a girl protect herself in the workplace and still learn to trust? Meem Se Mohabbat raises important questions.

Talha’s relationship with Roshi’s father is a breath of fresh air. His calling her out for lying to Dr Gopal was a necessary moment in the script.

As the drama progresses, we hope Roshi’s character isn’t undermined or made to look foolish just to elevate Talha into a superhero. Talha, the stoic hero, might be a thing of the past unless he shows growth and more depth in his character. Ahad Raza Mir is carrying the show, and we’re enjoying the subtle shades of his performance as he struggles to control his temper while understanding Roshi.

If you’re watching Meem Se Mohabbat, let us know what you think about the recent episodes. Is Roshi’s character and current situation relatable to real life?
